Refueling Yourself- Mentally

In these trying times, many small business owners are still dealing with the impact of COVID-19 pandemic. These effects range from financial issues, stress, anxiety, anguish, and other mental health problems. Stress that is not diagnosed has the ability to drain the life from its victims. During this pandemic, some stressors to be aware of are financial loans, not making enough money, not providing basic provisions for your family, school re-opening,unemployment,health concerns, and not being able to address the concerns of clients. Business Owners should watch out for "Mental Fatique", which absorbs you physically, emotionally, and mentally. To avoid business burnout, due to stress and anxiety here are some healthy ways to help refuel yourself during these difficult times.
1) Seek the help of a mental health professional before fatigue sets in. 2) Disengage from not only clients but peers also as necessary. 3) Create a support system for the purpose of venting and spending time doing nothing. 4) Consciously decide to involve yourself in activities that are self-satisfying. 5) Accept that you are not in control of everyone and everything only yourself. 6) Take prescribed medications as needed to improve functioning and improve your quality of life. As a business owner, you also deserve the space to unplug, rest, relax, and to take the necessary time-off for healing, being, and managing your thoughts, fears, and your emotions. This is the process of "Refueling"! If you are experiencing a mental breakdown, please contact a mental health professional in your area.
