Roll With The Wave
So much has happened due to COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic started in mid-march of 2020 and many businesses are still struggling at the end of 2021. Struggling to keep employees, pay taxes, and operate day-to-day. The pandemic was a huge wave that drowned alot of businesses. The wave was massive. It changed the normal face-to-face manner in which we did business. In November 2021, we are still wearing masks and slowly getting back to engaging our clients in an office setting. Virtual meetings have been a way of the norm these past years. As a business owner, you cannot have a "pond mentality" because as you see, we have all been dropped into the "deep water" so to speak and must survive and swim. Learning how to swim is not always easy, yet in these times, you have to do more than just get your feet wet. You have to learn to swim with the wave, not just keep your head above the water.
In addition, many businesses have been affected financially and have closed shop and filed bankruptcy. Studies show that approximately 200,000 small businesses closed their doors in the United States in the first year. So if you are still managing to stay afloat in your business in 2021, you have an opportunity to connect yourself with practice-based resources to survive in the upcoming years. Business is changing from day to day and as a business owner, it is imperative that you roll with the tide and learn how to swim with the big fish.
The Network of Women Business Owners provides services and resources that help small businesses to learn how to swim with the big fish and survive the "deep water" in this new digital space.

Communication-Key to Success (Part 3)
As an Entrepreneur, effective communication takes know how, understanding, and practice. Effective communication has become a lost art due to so much focus on a "stereotypical" point of view. So many times listeners are judged by their hair, clothes, and how they articulate. Entrepreneurs should never judge a book by its cover. To be an effective communicator, an Entrepreneur should learn the basics about personalities. Whether you're communicating with an individual or an audience, it's important to learn their personality type. This awareness will help you to understand how they behave and how to effectively communicate on their level.
By focusing on the different personality types, your capacity to deliver (communicate) your message in a way that others hear and understand will be increased. So, before you speak to an individual or a group, learn this simple acronym for the different personality types. This acronym "EISITFJP" identifies the basic group of personalities that you could be speaking to.
E-Extraverts
I-Introverts
S-Sensors
I-Intuitives
T-Thinkers
F-Feelers
J-Judgers
P-Perceivers
As you study this acronym, remember that each of these personalities requires a certain delivery approach for effective communication to take place.
We invite you to attend one of our upcoming workshops or seminars to learn more about the art of effective communication.

Networking Ethics
Ethics is the branch of knowledge that deals with moral principles. Entrepreneurs must model ethical behavior when engaging in networking events. So how do entrepreneurs and business owners model ethical behavior during networking events? How do networking event organizers create a culture of trust and values? It's not a one time task. Networking Ethics is an ongoing integration of values such as empowerment, trust, transparency, dignity, and respect. It's important that moral ethics be instilled at every level of leadership. Taking advantage of the vulnerabilities of others should not be the culture of networking.
Let's look at a few ways that networking organizers and entrepreneurs can create a culture of ethics when networking.
1)Examine your moral compass on a regular basis.
2)Exemplify moral behavior as an ethical leader.
3)Create a space for openness and transparency at networking events for attendees.
4)Develop a code of ethics document for networking events at registration.
5)Implement ethical training during networking events.
6)Create suggestion boxes and negative feedback surveys.
7)Revise networking practices based on negative feedback evaluations to ensure an ethical culture.
8)Apologize for any misconduct that might have transpired during networking events.
Be assured that Exploitation can and will happen during networking events, if an ethical culture is not established for attendees. Ethical misconduct can be redirected when self-awareness is emphasized and strategies are put into practice.

Improving Client Engagement
It is certainly true that clients are not an interruption of our day. They are the reason why we decided to start a business. Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing restrictions have been put in place to ensure safety. These restrictions continue to impact businesses from day to day. Client Engagement is one of the major concerns that business owners are trying to stay committed to resolving.
One of the ways that business owners can engage their clients is through common means of virtual assistance. This may be new to you as a business owner but you have to be flexible and change with these times. Be willing to learn new technology. Virtual sources that can be used are Zoom, Skype, and Google Hangouts just to name a few. At first, your working with these platforms may be intimidating and challenging to grasp and learn, continue to strive and gain new tools to effectively assist your clients.
Clients may also be intimidated by learning new technology. Here's the deal. This can be your opportunity to show your clients your business competence and versatility. Being emphatic to their fears and challenges will bring loyalty and commitment to you as a business owner.
Remember that the possibility of losing clients is very likely if business owners do not adjust to the demands of client satisfaction. The Network of Women Business Owners is here to help! visit us www.networkofwomenbusinessowners.net.

Now would be a good time to re-evaluate how you are marketing your business. For effectiveness, you will need to evaluate each layer of your business to get the best results from your time, energy, and efforts. There are several different ways to approach marketing your business. Let's not look at complex marketing strategies because many of you are already feeling frustration. Here's just a simple marketing tip that is overlooked by entrepreneurs.
TIP: EMAIL MARKETING (Cost entrepreneurs No Money)
Entrepreneurs should review their own email list that has been generated through past sales, social media events, networking events, past jobs, casual conversations, and word-of-mouth. If you don't have a list, you should make one. Afterwards, create some affordable give-away, promotion, or a discount off products or services. Start sending out emails on a regular basis. Ask for a response from your email group. Request that your emails be shared with others that may be interested in your promotion, discounts, products, or services. Follow-up, follow-up, follow-up! Don't be a nuisance but do your best to build a strong, authentic network of loyal, committed customers through emails. If you are using this strategy and it's not working, be sure to reach out to the Network of Women Business Owners LLC. We can help with marketing solutions.

4) Consciously decide to involve yourself in activities that are self-satisfying.
